Welfare Centres and Trade Unions

The Welfare and Tax Assistance Centres (Caf) provide information, assistance, and protection to obtain any type of services in the field of social security and immigration, whether they are provided for by laws, regulations, statutes, collective labour agreements or other regulatory sources and supplied by local authorities and public entities.

The activities of assistance, information, and advice for foreigners include:
• applications for issue and renewal of residency permits and for family and citizenship reunification
• applications for unemployment benefits, either ordinary or with reduced requirements, unemployment benefit for agricultural and construction workers
• filing for access to the National Health Service
• applications for maternity benefits with or without employment contracts
• applications for Italian pension and for pensions under international conventions
• filing for recognition of civil disability
• check of the social security position in Italy and abroad
• applications for social allowance
• filing for benefits in the event of illness, accident, and work-related diseases
• applications for family allowance.
