IOM

Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration.

IOM has a flexible structure and has over 460 offices located in more than 100 countries. Since September 2016, IOM has joined the UN system by becoming a Related Agency to the United Nations. IOM headquarters are located in Geneva.

The relations between the Italian government and the Organization are governed by an agreement signed in Rome on 23 June 1967, approved and executed under law no. 441 of 22 February 1968.
