Sardinian Agency for Active Labour Policies (Aspal)
Through its Department of Policies Supporting People at Risk of Exclusion, and in connection with the relevant departments of the Directorate-General of Labour, the ESF OP managing authority –Sardinian Agency for Active Labour Policies (Aspal) is engaged in the management of the project called “Innovative experimentation aimed at systematizing cultural mediation services”. This project is financed under the ESF OP 2014-2020 - Axis 2, specific objective 9.1 “Reduction of poverty and social exclusion and promotion of social innovation,” action line 9.1.2. “Innovative social services in support of multi-problematic households and/or particularly disadvantaged or discriminated people.”
The mail goal of the project is to fosters social integration and, where possible, employment of foreigners and particularly non-EU citizens, by providing homogeneous and qualitative intercultural mediation services throughout Sardinia.
The following services are offered:
• linguistic and cultural mediation
• non-professional interpreting and translation
• assistance and support in carrying out administrative and bureaucratic procedures
• optimisation of relations between foreign users and institutions
• guidance to the service network and the opportunities available in the area
• social mediation, as well as prevention and management of conflict situations
• information and guidance on rights, duties and opportunities for training, work, housing, health.
The activities are aimed both at individual foreigners, who have direct access to the offices, and at institutions (school, health, public offices) requesting support to deal with foreign users.
The activity in each territorial area is managed by a cooperative, selected by Aspal through the “Intercultural Mediation Projects” request for applications procedure.
The activities are implemented in all territorial areas.
