SIPROIMI

Decree-Law No. 113 of 4 October 2018, converted into Law No. 132 of 1 December 2018, renamed SPRAR -the protection system for asylum seekers, refugees, and unaccompanied foreign minors - into SIPROIMI - Protection System for holders of international protection and for unaccompanied foreign minors. Access to SIPROIMI is currently restricted to beneficiaries of international protection and all unaccompanied foreign minors.

Furthermore, the new regulatory provision expands the access to SIPROIMI integrated reception services to any residence permit holder in the following cases: victims of violence or trafficking, victims of domestic violence, health grounds for protection, victims of labour exploitation, disasters, acts of great civil value.
SIPROIMI protection system consists of the network of local authorities which, within the limits of available resources, have access to the National Fund for Asylum Policies and Services for the implementation of integrated reception projects.

At a territorial level, with the precious support of the third sector, local authorities guarantee integrated reception measures which go beyond the mere distribution of board and lodging, also providing complementary information, accompaniment, assistance, and guidance by building individual paths of socio-economic integration.
